Comments: My brother and I are looking for information on Donald Turner (our uncle). He was killed manning twin 50s when he couldnt raise the gun height enough to shoot over the bodies of the enemy and they were over run.
Some one in the 1st Marine Division - either 5th Battalion 7th Regiment or 1st Battalion 7th Regiment recounted this to John Charles Cheek: "He told me that story one sunny day in the summer of 1953. We sat in the trench outside my bunker, smoked and shot the bull for 15 or 20 minutes. I think he was there to buy a bottle of whiskey from me."
My Dad was never able to talk about his favorite brother and we would like to keep the family history intact. Our other Uncle is very old now and would like to hear about Donald.
Any information would be appreciated

Comments: I am assisting a comrade from Charlie-1-5 in his search for the son of Frank Serna. Nick (Bud) Cercone was Frank's squad leader in our assault on Hill 610 on 2 June, 1951, an assault in which Frank was KIA. Frank never saw his son who would now be in his early 50's. Bud would very much like to find the son and talk with him about his father... the kind of man and Marine he was. Bud thinks the family was either in the L.A. or Bay area at the time of Frank's death. Anyone with even the slightest bit of information can contact me at my e-mail: rclark8@san.rr.com.

Comments: I recently found a photo album with pictures of my buddies from the Korean war. The album had been lost for more than 45 years and I had forgotten the names of most of them but I did write the names (Mostly last names) on the backs of some of the pictures. They brought back many memories that I had pushed to the back of my mind. Now I would like to see if anybody remembers me and/or the buddies that I have listed here: PFC Gene Feldman, PFC Scott, CPL Miller, PFC Cruz, PFC Gregory, CPL Bill Cross, Sgt Loughln, PFC Vaughn, S/SGT Reese, CPL Fry, PFC Myers, PFC Ken Deboom. I landed in P.I.March 1951...Went to Camp Pendleton and then to Korea in the 13th draft. Was wounded in May 1952. Returned to Camp Lejune and was dicharged March 1954. Ther's a lot that I can't remember of those days so I hope someone out there will recognize me or one of my buddies and fill me in.

Comments: I am a Marine Capt writing a paper on the ambush detailed on page 128 in the book Victory at High Tide also titled Tanks at Dawn. I was wondering if anyone reading this has any more knowledge of the situation than what is explained in the passage. Many thanks for anything you can recall.

Comments: We are looking for anyone who remembers Sgt. William Clark who was in Weapons Co., 1st Batallion, 5th regiment, 1st Marine Divsion and who was killed June 16, 1951. (he's my wife's brother) The story we have is that he was in a foxhole with two other guys and got hit in the back with shrapnel and died instantly. Do you remember him? Please contact me if you do. Today, he was remembered and honored at his gravesite in Lincoln Maine by the Marine Reserve and his family. Thanks very much.
