Comments: I am the daughter of Carl Donald Stancil of Raleigh, NC. My father was retired from the USMC, and served in Korea. I have his military records, and I am interested in deciphering the story I'm sure is told in these records, if only I understood the jargon and acrynoms. Please email me

Comments: For anyone who may have known or served with Marine Sgt. Joe (Sully) Sullivan in Korea I have on this date the unpleasant task of advising that he passed away on this day 07Nov98.
Joe owned a tavern in Jersey City that was covered wall to wall with our Corps regalia and every 10 NOV. past marines were at least five deep at the bar.
So now a final Semper Fi and farewell to Sgt. Joe (Sully) Sullivan.

Comments: Former Marine and son of Marine who served WWII and Korea (chosin) JESS WILLARD KNIGHTEN dad lied about his age and enlisted at age 16 in Oklahoma. I remember reading a few letters that he had sent home during the war and describing the bitter cold. Dad died at an early age of 47 before my entering the Marines so we never had a conversation about our common ground. I don,t know what unit he served in any former friends please contact me. knighten@cport.com thanks
