Looking for Marines from I,3,1

Comments: I am interested in corresponding with anyone from the Mortar platoon of Item Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. I was the corpsman with that unit from Inchon thru Chosin until I was rotated sometime in 1951. Can't remember much about the war.

McNea 7989500 born 10/4/1930 and was from Bottineau, ND where he is buried. in H/3/1's 2nd Platoon in Nov., Dec., 1950, and Jan. 1951 was WIA on Nov. 29th 1950 at Hagaru and evacuated to the hospital was KIA on 3/2/1951 while attending wounded comrads during Operation KILLER near Hoensong.

Update: He was in the 2nd platoon of How Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Division.

He was killed on Hill 111, July 25, 1953. A gentleman here in Alabama, saw my post and contacted me - he was in 1st platoon of How Company and was there that night.

He arrived as part of the 2nd Marine Reinforcements, in 1953, then became a part of 1st.

I have the declassified "Commander's Diary" for 3rd Battalion.

Comments: I am seeking information on a to USMC vet for the sake of his children (now adults) who would like to know about him and his service in Korea. He died when they were very young. He was John Hannigan of Bostn, Mass. He served in Weapons/3/1 from approximately 2/51 to 10/51 when he was wounded at Hwang-gi(?) and medivaced. Did w/3/1 receive any unit awards during this time? I just finished reading two great books on this subject, but dont know where to look for the specific records of his unit, or any memoirs, auto biog.s, etc..

Comments: The e-mail is mine ..ben barnes wife...I forgot what his unit in the marines was..6th fleet or something. I when into this korean project and it had an area for the KIA to up date. I printeded it and carried it home and my husband (Ben) filled it out on his brother that was killed in the Inchon landing. I was going to input the info and I can not find it.
