Comments: Hello,

Please help! I'm looking for info on my late uncle, (Silvanus) Keichi Kenny
Imamura. He was my dad's half-brother & I never knew he existed until 2010, but
I found out later that he supposedly died in Aug 2009. He was the son of my
grandma, Toshiko (Sakamaki) Yusa/Imamura & her 2nd husband, Keikichi Akane
Imamura.

Uncle Kenny was born 10Dec1931 in Laguna Beach, CA, was interned in Gila River,
went to Brooklyn when he & his parents were released from camp, & attended UCLA.
He served in Korea in Mike Company.

I may have an aunt & cousins out there that I don't know about. Even if I don't,
I'd still like to know about Uncle Kenny. Any information that anyone can
provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON FREDERICK ELTON KOELLNER

Frederick Elton Koellner

Can anyone give me information about where my dad was stationed when he was in Japan and Korea (1952-1954). Really I would love to have as much information as anyone is willing to give. The best I can tell he served from Dec 1951 to 1958 or 1959, he was in the 187th Airborne when he first went in and 82nd Airborne when he re-upped, I believe. At some point he did ground ammunition drops and Im not sure when that factors in. Im asking because my Dad really wouldnt talk about it with me and I thought he did with my Son (Army National Guard) so out of respect I never pushed the issue. My Father recently passed away and I would like to make a display case for my Son and Daughter (Air Force) about their Grandfathers Military time (his records where in the fire). Thank you for your time and your Service.

Keywords: I have two Military pictures of him - In the first one he is wearing his jump gear with the 187th Airborne patch on his arm. That picture is painted on silk and I was told painted in Japan. The second picture is in his dress uniform on his hat is the Quartermaster insignia on the collar is the Enlisted Adjutant General disc on his shoulder is the Army Service Force patch on his chest are jumpwings, Good Conduct, Occupation, National Defense, Korean Service, UN Korean Service, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, and Presidential Unit Citation.

He was born in the Detroit area and had relatives in at least the Detroit and Pittsburgh areas. He was born on 10-26-1931 and died on 11-24-1999 in Hamtramck, MI. I am especially hoping to find anyone who may have talking to him about his family, as I am trying to find out more about them. He had four brothers and one sister. Both of his parents had already died before he left for Korea.

His full name was Frank John Majewski and I believe his highest rank was Pfc. Other family members and I have been trying to find any information about him and his family for some time.

it the forgotten war it will never be forgotten in the hearts of the family of those
who served! My grandfather was my inspiration for joining the military, but even still
he will not discuss this war with me. For that reason it breaks my heart to think of
what he must have endured to be so closed up about it. I do know that he took part in
the battle at the Chosin reservoir and that he was MIA for some time, but that is all
I know. God bless all who served, you will never be forgotten!

Comments: I am looking for anyone who had served with my father Vaughn Hector Tweed in Co. B 30th Tk Bn from the years 1953 through 1956. He was also in Korea part of that time as a specialized mechanic on tanks. I have been searching for anyone who recognizes the name. I lost my father back in 1976 and his children have been searching for over 30 years to find any information on him. We know he trained at Fort Knox, KY before heading out to Korea and he was in the Armor division of the Army. H.J. Thompson, 1st Lt., AGC signed his active duty papers. Some other members of his regiment were Johnny Taylor, Gerald S. Welch, Malcolm Wright, III, Edward Grisham, Dennis Stewart, Ray Laymon, just to name a few. I have a list of names, but some are not legible. Anything anyone knows will be a big help.

Additionally, he also went to school at the Army Education Center in Fort Sill, Oklahoma on August 31, 1953 and upon completion of his classes this person signed his documents, E.C. Wittekind. I am unsure what this means but I have this address APO 971 and found this information on a piece of paper which I am unsure what it means 58 Ord Co. Ammo. My father was qualified to operate U.S. Government vehicles.

Thank you. I also want to Thank all the servicemen and servicewomen for their service to our country.

My father, Warner Persall, was a private, sixth infantry div,

based out of Fort Ord during the Korean War from June 1952 thru

his honorable discharge Dec 1953. He was an infantryman, and

volunteered for a secret mission, which has since been

declassified, as a paratrooper (he said 82nd airborne, dropped

behind enemy lines. He never spoke of it until just recently,

before his death. I was just given his medals and badges, which

include a purple heart, paratrooper badge and ranger badge,

among many others. I knew very little about any of this, as my

father was told by his commander to never speak of it. Since

the mission has been declassified, I would like to talk with

anyone who may know of this mission or was part of his unit. I

Comments: I am trying to locate information on my father's
service in the
Army. He was enlisted from 1949 - 1952, but never
talked about
his time or what his did. My mother told us he
was a Korean War
Vet, but most of his records had been lost over
the years.
However, I recently found his DD214 which listed
his most
significant duty assignment as (4602) D BTRY 4 A A
A BN. The
MOS is anti-aircraft artillery crewman, but I
cannot find a
reference to this unit or where they served. The
national
archives have told me his records were lost in the
1973 fire.
His DD214 also lists 1 yr and 10 months of
overseas service, but
no location. His name was Alvin E. Clark, he was
from
Springville NY, his rank was PVT-2(T)
at time of discharge and his service number was RA
12 349 877. I
am trying information on his unit and where they
served as I am
hoping to obtain a veteran marker for his
headstone from the VA.
Any assistance would be appreciated, and on the
off chance that
there are still some people out there who remember
serving with
him, I would love to hear about your memories of
my father.

Comments: I am looking for info regarding my father, Wilbur Lloyd Lapp. He
went by Lloyd. He was a medic in Panama during the Korean War. He
passed away in 2006, and because he didn't talked much about his
stay in Panama. That's about all I know from him. I'm searching
for info so that I can fill in the blanks. I'm helping my mom
apply for VA assistance for Aid and attendance.
I would like to hear from anyone who knew my dad. If you can
give me any specific dates or info like ~ where exactly he was
stationed, what unit etc.. that would be great!!
Any stories you would like to tell about him would be great too.
My Dad was well loved by most people. He was a very large man
(300 pounds plus)... but I've seen pictures in his early life and
he was in very good shape. I think he fell in love with fresh
water and salt water fish during his stay in Panama. He played
football and laughed a lot!! Thank you for your help and
stories. My name is Ginga Lapp Merritt, his youngest daughter.

Comments: I found a parcel with a Fort Sheridan banner which was sent to
my mom Jan 12, 1953 from a Pvt Alvino D Andersen. My mom would
have been in the 9th grade. Two of her brothers at that time
were in the navy. Would just like to know if he is still alive
and remembers sending her the banner.
