LOOKING FOR CREW MEMBERS

Comments: My name is Donald R. Franz. I was a Airman 2nd class stationed with the 22nd CRASH RESCUE BOAT SQUADRON from the summer of 1952 - 1953 with the WOLMI-DO DETACHMENT attached to ITZUKE AFB FUKUOKA, KYUSHU JAPAN. I would like to correspond with anyone who was there and their relatives. I only remember a couple of names: ED HAMMONDS and the cook "HEAVY" URQUART.

22nd Air/Sea Rescue

Comments: I am trying to obtain information for my father. His name is Robert Edward Pate and he served in the Air Force from January 1951 until November 1954. He was last stationed in Itasuke, Japan with what he calls the 22nd Air/Sea Rescue. He was a staff sargeant. His separation papers were distroyed in a hurricane and his records at National Archives were distroyed in the fire during the 70's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. He cannot obtain veterans benefits without his separation papers.

notice of passing David Lynes

Comments: David G. Lynes, who served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and in the Air Force (8th Air Base and 22nd Crash Rescue Boat Squadron) in Korea as a Staff Sergeant, died on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001 and was buried with full military honors in Dawes Cemetery at Cummington, Massachusetts.

He was fortunate to be able to reconnect with old buddies through the Korean War Project.

He leaves his wife of 47 years, Brooke Lynes, a brother, four children, six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Andrea Lynes, Daughter-in-law

Comments: This is in respose to Mr. Roberts request for info, message 22698. Albeit a year late, I only just came across this site, I found it because I was looking for info on the 63 footer also. My cousin was a crewmember on one out of Alaska in the 50's and I wanted to make a model of his boat for him. A site that has the info he's looking for is http://members.nbci.com/AVR63ft. Air Force Crash Boat Airman Ball

Comments: I am seeking the whereabouts of BOBBY BALL, Airman,United States Air Force, I think he was a in a Crash Boat Unit somewhere in the Inchon area in 1952. Air Force Crash Boats

Comments: I am restoring a 63' Crash Boat to it's original condition. I'd appreciate any help in locating plans, line drawings; photos; manuals or parts. The boat is located in Vallejo, Ca. and is in pretty good shape. Built in 1943 at Miami Shipbuilding Co. Thanks to all.

Seeking contact with other vets David Lynes

Comments: I'm trying to help my father-in-law David Lynes hook up with his fellow veterans. He was a control tower operator at Mather Field in Sacramento, CA from March to July 3, 1950, then went to Hanida (Tokyo), then Itazuki, where he met a Col. Price.

His units included 8th Airbase group and the 22nd crash rescue boat squadron.
