Comments: I was assigned to the 97 Bomb Group Sept. 47 out of A & E training school at Biloxie, Ms. I was discharged Sept 51. Nov. 48 97th was sent to UK for three month stay. Converted to B-50's first of year 1950. Returned to UK after Korean War started. 97th took full compliment of A-Bombs to UK for defense of Europe in case of hostilities outbreak that area. Lost "City of El Paso" due to take off crash. Plane hit group of trees near end of runway. Two years ago I found a model of the City of El Paso in a model shop in Houston. Nose art picture matched picture of actual plane I still have. Also have picture of B-29 Happy Warrior.

Have not been able to locate any served with.
