Comments: A brother and sister of Allen Charles Dinger have sent blood samples and filled out the forms that were requested.
I knew Allen as "Bud". I just found two letters that Bud wrote to me when I was 11 years old. The last one is dated four days before his plane went down. That was 50 years ago. He was hoping to get home in June, 1951.
According to the envelope we found, Allen "Bud" Dinger was in the 93rd Bomb Squadron, 19th Bomber Group. He flew out of Kadena AFB in Okinawa. I think he was a tailgunner on a B-29, but that is strictly from memory.
My mother (Allen's sister} died in January, 2000. She would have been so proud to know what is going on with the Korean War Project. She always felt that the servicemen from the Korean War did not receive the thanks or respect that they deserved. Bud was my uncle, but I was close to him. He was 11 years older than me,and was my first hero.

Comments: I am a Crew Chief with the first and only Air Force Reserve B52 bombers unit. We were reactivated about 7 yrs ago, the unit designation is the 93rb Bomb Sq. I would like to find any information concerning the unit during the Korean War, WW II if possible. I am looking for missions flown, unit awards, campaigns, patches and mostly nose art pictures. In today Air Force we are unable to put nose art on aircraft unless it is of heraldry or gender friendly, which means no ladies. The Air Force will consider it if we can show them historical nose art from past aircraft flying the 93rd colors in combat. I would greatly appreciate it if any one is able to help. On a different note would very much like to thank all f you who came before me, who fought for our freedom and the sacrifices you made for this country. Thank You!

Kadena. My name is Neil Stouffer Airman First Class. My nickname was
Pierre.
I am interested in hearing from anyone who was in Korea from 1951 to
1952. I was stationed at Kadena and was a second fire control gunner.
We flew missions over Korea. Tail gunner was Jimmy Myers, one gunner
was Joe Macullough, Frank Pelzel was the radio operator. One pilot was
named Capt. Durand. Do these names ring a bell with anyone. We lost a
co-pilot who was called Tex maybe named Scotty actually.
I flew on several B29's including the 'Outlaw' which crashed at the end
of the runway around Oct 51 with Cspt Donanan (I think). "Boys we best
get out of this son of a bitch, she's on fire".
One of the gunners was Noble Walker, second Luitenant Scotty (Tex)
Thompson, who died in Korea.
