Comments: I would like to re-connect with personel, especially enlisted, and also the remainder of the West Point Class of '46 pilots. I was fortunate to have visited with General Poe during the summer of 2000, prior to his untimely death.

Comments: Where can I find the details of the locations, in UK, that 8th Weather Recon Sqn, USAAF, were at during WW2? One of our RAF Meteorological Air Observers was killed flying with 8 Wx Recon in B-17 42-30131 on 2 Feb 43. The a/c Failed To Return from a met recon mission. We are trying to find out which track they were on. The Project aims to create a Memorial to Air Met Observers who were casualties in WW2. Any help will be gratefully received. Thanks in advance. Peter

RF-80's v. MiG's

Comments: I'm researching Korean War air combat. I'm specifically interested in two cases where RF-80's evaded attacks by MiG-15's early in the jet fighting: Feb 3 and Feb 23, 1951. Both have interesting Russian sides to the story. The available USAF records don't mention either pilot's name. Does anyone know or could hazard a guess, or even have a list of the 8th TRS pilots at that time? Btw, I'm also interested in any other accounts or experiences of RF-80's v. MiG's

Comments: To Whom It May Concern, I am a member of the 15th Recon Squadron who is working on a history project of our squad history. I've been asked to write up a pamphlet for Major John H. Hoefker who was an Ace. I have one article on him and not many pictures at all. If there is anybody who could help me with this task it would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time. Comments: I noticed a unit was missing from the list of reconnaissance units/squadrons. The 8th TRS (Photo Jet) was the precursor to the 15th TRS. From the beginning of the war until Feb 1951 it flew out of Japan and Taegu. In Feb 1951 the 67th Tac Recon Group was organized, and the 8th TRS became the 15th. Of interest, the Marine Photographic Squadron One (VMJ-1) was attached to the 67th for film processing and some mission assignments.

In Feb 1951 the 67th Tac Recon Group was organized, and the 8th TRS
