Comments: I was called up with the Unit (730th) on 10 Aug 1950 and reported to George AFB. As I was just 18 years old, Ed Stearns told my brother-in-law(who got me into the unit) that since he wasn't going with the unit that he would look after me. I appreciated it. I became the Maintenance Clerk for the Unit under Lt. Albin S. Hegge. After we were in Pusan (K-9) for a few months, I was transferred the Mosquitos, 6149th Tac Control Squadron, 6147th Tactical Control Group at K-6. Many exciting times there. I returned to the U.S. for separation in April 1952. I have been to many 452nd reunions and several Mosquito reunions.

Comments: The Air Force Museum has a new Korean War display in Dayton, Ohio. There is a pictorial book for sale for about $17.00 called" B-26 Night Intruders Over Korea". It features the 452nd and 17th at K-9 and K-8. Excellent color photos (about 40} of the operations. It is put out by Osprey Press in England. Contact the museum or your favorite book store. Does anyone remember Lt.Col. Walt Lasly at K-9 51 and 52?

Comments: I was one of the original Sweetser 'boys' that was lucky enough to be among the first ones to go overseas in the new Air Force blue 'bus driver's' uniform. I would like to say 'hello' to any of the guys that I knew from the 730th and to the rest of the whole 452nd! Now, if someone could tell me where the big 50th is going to be held, I would be most grateful.

According to my map of Korea, saved by me after my return of duty with
the 730th Bomb Squadron, this city is located directly south of
Pyongyang, along the railroad. About the same distance south as it is
from the most extreme western tip of Korea. Its proper spelling,
according to my map is Sinwon-ni.
