| DANIEL (DAN) QUINN wrote on December 21, 2011 CITY AND STATE: UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: I am researching the life of my Father John (Jack) T Quinn and would like to hear any stories about him. Did he serve in the 58th? I understand the 58th flew F-84s. What markings and colors identified a jet as being from the 58th. What unit/squadron had two yellow tail strips (one over and under the tail id number)? Thank you. Keywords: Jack Quinn F-84 Pilot |

LOOKING FOR INFO. |
| RICHARD BAKER wrote on January 27, 2006 CITY AND STATE: SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO CA UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: I'm looking for information on the accident that killed my brother in law, 1st Lt. M.K. Smotherman, in Korea in May of 1952. I believe he was one of a flight of four F-86's that hit a mountain returning from a mission. I'm not sure of circumstances but he was killed when he was apparently making an approach for landing. I"m sure he was not leading the flight but I would like to know anything that anyone might know about it. I would like to be able to obtain a copy of the accident report but don't know how to find one. I was only 15 when it happened and our family never got any of the details. I'd like to hear from anyone with any knowledge of the accident. Thanks, Richard W. Baker Keywords: 1st Lt. Marion K. Smotherman, 69 Fighter bomber squadron, Korea 1952. |

NEED HELP LOCATING FATHER, HE WAS A KOREAN WAR VET |
| JONATHAN FIELDS wrote on May 8, 2000 CITY AND STATE: FARGO ND UNIT: LAST KNOWN UNIT OF MY FATHER WAS: 69TH FTTR BOMB S SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: AIR FORCE VETERAN - KOREA Comments: Hello, I'm writing to ask if anyone can help me locate my father. I'm 33 yrs. old and I have never met my father. The only info I have on him is a United States Armed Forces Institue of Japan certification from Dec. 27th of 1956, with a letter to his Commander of the 69th Ftr Bomb Sqdn, APO 970. The letter states that he completed the Intermediate Radio course. The letter is dated Jan. 14th 1957, and it is signed by Lt.Col. Milton L. Acuff. I know this document is after the war, but I know he is a Korean War Vet. Well, if anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Our family has never heard from him. I would like to have contact with him, for my own closure. The info I have on him is what I have listed above, and this: His name is: Samuel Fields, he's from Hico,WV. I know he was stationed in Denver at one time, also Rapid City. His Military ID #13350869, he worked with radar or electronics. According to the document I have he was a S/Sgt in 1957. Thanks to anyone who can give me any information. God Bless Keywords: |
