Comments: Hi there, my father Bill (William) Massey recently passed away and I am trying to prove he received commendations, including a Purple Heart, so that can be etched on his headstone. Problem is, the DD 214 is missing and the gov't says the records from his service were lost in a fire. Dad told me he got the medals for actions taken in March, 1953. I don't know what exactly he did, besides being a Chaplain's Assistant and assisting at an orphanage in Bupyong. ANY information about my dad would help, even if you just knew him when he was in training in Alabama (I think he said Alabama...) My email is mtwriter@mt.net Thanks and God Bless.

His phone number is apparently silent, and attempts to phone Sidney have been unsuccessful. Sid's email address would be appreciated for correspondence to be re-established.\

Comments: My father, Alva L Curry, was with the 67th in Itami from 1955-57. He was in charge of base maintenance. Although he would not reveal to us his real job, he later told us he had secret clearances above top secret. I have read some of the recent books, and many things have obviously been declassified.

Anyone remember my dad? Any ideas on how to get the information from the AF? Thanks,

Ron Curry

Comments: I lost my Dad to cancer on 01/29/01. I do have a lot of his books and pictures, and his 67th recon squad mug "Hubba Hubba" with the six armed bug on it. I sure miss him, and I am very proud of him for everything he has done for our country. I remember all the stories he told me about the wars, how he got shot down twice, once on enemy lines and had to crawl back to base because his back was broke. He was a pilot, flight leader, photographer and photo interpreter. He retired from the Air Force in 1965, he was 77 years old when he passed away on 01/29/01. I am the Lab Manager at a Photo Lab and I aways tell customers about my Dad and show them pictures because I don't want him or any veteran to be forgotten. Unfortunatley I didn't have much time with my Dad ( I was born on 05/17/77) but our time together was precious. Please e-mail me if you want to, maybe you knew my Dad.
