| AL LLOYD wrote on October 5, 2001 CITY AND STATE: BELLEVUE WA UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: - Comments: I am an engineer at Boeing, Vietnam-era USAF veteran, life member of the Air Force Association, and a freelance aviation writer. I am completing a manuscript on the for a 300-page book on the C-82/C-119. I am looking for more details on the Treadway bridge drop at the Chosin Reservoir. Some details may be added to the text, but more importantly are the plans for a painting for a wrap-around dust jacket depicting the drop. Can anyone supply the following: Aircraft serial numbers (nose numbers) that made the drop. Drop sequence. Direction of flight. Aircraft spacing. Weather (clear/snow). Any photos from that day showng drop zone. The better the data, the beter the painting. FYI, I was a technical advisor for Boeing's 50th anniversary programs for the B-17, B-29, and USAF 50th. Each program had several paintings done using data I gathered and later oversaw the artists to assure technical accuracy. Any assistance would be most appreciated. Keywords: |
