Comments: I, too, darkened those doors behind you more than a thousand times in my 2.5 years assigned to this squadron - from 2/51 -7/53. I participated in processing film from the 91st and the 98th Bomb Gp. Not only from B-29s but from RB-45s too. Then later, processing gun camera film from Korea, and making composite movies of them monthly. Also assisted in the ECM program when it was in its infancy, taking photos of radar screens in the B-29s. I have several pics of Yokota and its environs, but don't know how to post them. Had the privilege of having had several special assignments.

Comments: My dad served in the Korean War. Staff Sergeant John Calzada separated from the Air Force on November 13, 1950. His unit was the 6th Photomapping Tech. Squadron in the Far East Air Force that was later designated the 548th Recon. Tech. Squadron. I would like to know more about this unit. Does anyone know about this unit?

Comments: Can anyone tell me what unit awards the 548th was awarded during the Vietnam War, especially between the dates September 1, 1971 and August 31, 1973? I need that information to file a complaint about unlawful termination of a Vietnam Era Veteran. I understand the definition of a "Vietnam Era Veteran" has changed and I need to find out if I qualify.

COMPASS LINK at 548th at Hickam

Comments: From September 1971 until August 1973 I was stationed at the 548th at Hickam as a Staff Sergeant Photogrammetric Cartographic Analyst (22150). During the mining of Haiphong harbor (a mission codenamed "Pocket Change" by President Nixon) we received daily reconnaissance photos bounced off the Compass Link satellite from Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base, redid the target overlays, and bounced them back to Ubon in time for the morning briefings before the next days sorties. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone on either ends of those transmissions.

Here attached is the only photo I have ever seen of the front of the
548th Photo lab where all recon photos taken by the 91st and 98 B29
Wings where processed. Targets for the next night's bombing were selected
here.

This attached photo was taken using my camera and it is James Landrum
standing in front of the 548th Photo lab.

The "Top Secret" 548th was located in a building next to the photo lab
site (I have many photos but have never published them) of this building.

In that Intelligence building we debriefed the crews of the 91st Wing
after a recon mission and sent the reports to a multitude of Military
Units inlcuding FEAF,and Washington DC. (see book: I Remember Korea
(Landrum's Story).

The Top Secret Intelligence recon work of the 548th was limited to few
knowing what we were doing.

On 08 October 1965 it was organized again and redisignated the
