Comments: I served in the 509th Air Police/812th Air Police Squadron at Walker Air Force Base at Roswell N.M. I would like to hear from any others that I served with during that time. Also was TDY to Lakenheath RAF Station, England in 1952. I'm PROUD to have been a part of the 509th and the 812th Air Police Squadron at Roswell, New Mexico.

Personnel records destroyed in '73' Records Center fire. Is there another source for these records? Any information re my father, a records source or the crash would be appreciated.

B-50D's of the 509th

Comments: a Couple of years ago,Forestry workers near Lakenheath Air Base, England recovered wreckage from a B-50D aircraft. It is believed to have been 49-271A of the 830th BS, 509th BW. Pilot Capt A.F. Venskus. Aircraft were TDY at Lakenheath from Walker AFB. June Primer exercise.Aircraft crashed on 24th June 1952. Does anyone remember this incident?
