James Elmo Sizemore flew with the 37th TCS in Japan. Well, I know Dad was in Japan but I thought he was a Nav on B-29s. Anyone remember a Nav that smiled all the time, smoke Winston cigs and had a great sense of humor, teased and was from Lawrenceville, Illinois and graduated from Vincennes University? Please let me know. Dad may have earned the nick name Smiling Sam back then as a Nav. He did win recognition for getting a B-29 back to base when the nav system went out and Dad had to get the plane back to base navigating by only the stars! Keywords: Navigator, Sizemore, James Elmo |
