| JUDY LEE wrote on September 4, 2011 CITY AND STATE: UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: I'm looking for anyone who knew Matsuko Yoshidome in Ashiya, Japan, 1951-54. She was my birth mother; I was adopted when I was 3. She was already deceased when I "found" her, and I'd like to find out as much as I can about her. Thanks. Keywords: Matsuko Yoshidome |

INFORMATION ON C-119 49-0157 |
| BOB VEIGEL wrote on April 15, 2006 CITY AND STATE: PEORIA AZ UNIT: 37TH TROOP CARRIER SQUADRON SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: Am looking for information on C-119 tail number 49-0157. This aircraft is presently at the Pima Air Museum. It is known that it was assigned to the 314th but that is the only information the museum has. They are presently restoring this aircraft and I would like to be able to tell them which squadron it was assigned to so they can put the correct colors on the nose and tail. If someone has any information I would greatly appreciate it. There were some of our aircraft that had nose art, maybe this aircraft had some. Keywords: My father (SSgt/TSgt Robert Veigel)was a member of the 37th TCS at Sewart AFB from 1949 to 1955. He deployed to Japan with the group during the Korean War. We lived in base housing from 1953 to 1955. I went to school on base when the school was located in three barracks buildings(1952-1953) and then when it moved into the new John Coleman School (1953 - 1955). The school was still in use when I was last in the area about 5 years ago. Some of the housing is still in use and there are only a few of the building left on the base which were there when we were there. |

RECORDS |
| ROBERT JOHNSON wrote on February 25, 2006 CITY AND STATE: SURPRISE AZ UNIT: NA SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: INTERESTED PERSON Comments: Hello, Attempting to locate a member of the 314th TCG that served during WWII. Purpose is to understand what members taken prisoner during their last mission did to obtain proof they were wounded before or during captivity. A copilot of a C-47 was injured during crash landing due to enemy ground fire in France 7 June 1944. He also received frostbite during captivity. Upon repatriation, he was not medically examined. Obviously, there is nothing annotated in military personnel and medical records. Perhaps someone may have connections with other veterans that may provide an answer. Regards, Robert E.
