WE would like to hear from anyone that remembers him, He Didn't have time to make many friends as he was there only 4 months. I believe his Group Commander was Col. Harvey Dorsey. A buddy (Vittulo-sp) was killed in the same mission he was on. My husband does not talk abour the Korean War and maybe someone that remembers him will get in contact with him and share something in common betweem them.

Comments: My step-father served in Korea with the 30th Bomb sq. After he passed away a couple of years ago, we discovered pictures and slides we had never seen before. Among the pictures was pictures of B29's nose art, pictures of some B29's in flight and some pictures of B29's on the ground. We also found pictures of him on leave possibly in Japan. I have slides of the following B29 nose art, "Top Mark", Fujigmo, and Dragon Lady. I think my mother has pictures of the nose art of "Bub, Miss NC, Cream of the Crop, Lucifer, Bluetail fly and also "Dragon Lady". I will be glad to share these pictures with others.

My great uncle was named Augustine Quevas he was a Sgt, Air Corps, 30th Bomb Squadron, 19th Bomb Group (Heavy) who perished on the Hell ship called Shinyo Maru. He is listed as MIA as of the date of the sinking, September 7, 1944. He is listed on the Tablets of the Missing in Manila National Cemetery. His home state was California. He was captured on Bataan and endured the Bataan Death March, taken to Cabanatuan then on various slave details including the Davao POW Camp. He was en route from Davao to Manila when his ship was torpedoed by an American submarine (uss paddle) and sank.

It says super lighter on the bottom (Prince underlined) MFG.Y.R.C.@CO.PT.234754 On one side it has, 19th bomb wing above it is a bird gripping a braided piece of rope,i think,it has a sheild, two small stars on top and two bigger stars on bottom, and a sword with wings attached to the sword. The other side is as follows; a circle with a skull/lightning bolt from the eye, looks to be a wing on top of the head, also it looks like a stick figure of a man on top of skull, triangle on left side of skull and another triangle under skull. It is in working condition. Anyone interested please contact me at the listed e-mail addy jackdselby@yahoo.com

My brother, Ross Joslyn was a tail gunner and is looking for anyone from

I personally remember a plane named "Peace Maker". Although not the same
plane, the crew had to crash land at Kimbo after being put out of

Info on Patterson needed
From: Walter T. Campbell Email address

Subject: 30th Bomb Squadron
To: SiberSandy@aol.com
I have been unable to find anyone else who may have some information
about the 30th BS. I was in Korea in 1953, in the 13th Bomb Squadron,
and am presently a member of the 13th Bomb Squadron Association, a
veteran's group that holds reunions each year, publishes newsletters,
etc.
Today I received a phone call from a lady in Nashville, TN, searching
for a Lyle Patterson who was in the 30th in Korea. Now, my question:
have you ever heard from any 30th Bomb Squadron veterans' groups, or
perhaps from someone who is keeping a history of the 30th, etc.?
If so, I would like to contact that person to try to locate this
Lyle Patterson.
Thank you for your time in reading this letter, and for your
response.
Walter T. Campbell, Brewer, Maine.
