Comments: I'm researching the Korean air war with one focus the period just after MiG's appeared, late 1950.

Very specific question: Soviet MiG's claimed 3 B-29's December 6. 5th AF records describe B-29's, callsign "Beneficial", combat with MiG's December 6, two B-29's damaged. 28th BS records show 2 a/c damaged (44-62224 Wanderer and 42-63475 Houston Honey/Jolly Roger [possibly WWII not Korean era names I got elsewhere]) but say December 7. Was the 28th's call sign "Beneficial" at this time?

Any other info on this incident, those a/c, or 28th BS air combat any time during the war would also be interesting to me. Thanks.

Joe Brennan

Comments: Yes this site along with Mac McGill's site is like going home. Even though it was nearly fifty years ago. I was assigned to the 19th Bomb Gp about the 10th of July 1950 and was assigned as Radar Tech on old 306 "The Outlaw". I remained with her until her disasterous test hop in October 1951. I remained with the 28th until July 1952. I later returned to Korea and was at Suwon with the 319th Fighter Interceptor Sq. when the cease fire was signed. For those interested in the 19th Bomb Gp. visit Mac McGills site at...http://home.att.net/~immac91/b29korea.html...best wishes to all.....Len Miller/Msgt. USAF/Ret.

His dog tag reads AF 19371812 T 51

I have his 28th bomb squad patch and know that he was a "fire/gun

Any information about his tour in Korea or the people he flew with
