(DON) SAWICKI wrote on April 24, 2009 City and State: FORT WORTH TX Unit: 27TH SUPPLY SQUADRON Service or Relationship: AIR FORCE VETERAN Comments: While checking on my computer one day I opened up the title of the names of men I knew when I was stationed with in the 27 supply sq. with the Air Force during the 1948- 1949 years in Kearney Nebr. and Austin Texas. I often wondered what and where the men are now and how many made a career with the military. When I knew the men I was seventeen and had no planes of making a career with the military, but once I married and began my family and career planning I finally got into the jet age where I remained with the B-52 and C-135 aircraft until my retirement in 1968. Today at the age of 79 my health is excellent and I continue with my aviation ambitions taking to the sky, as I still am able to pass all flight test and physicals required by F.A.A.
