Comments: Looking for any information about incident where on a hot day an aircraft had to salvo 2 five hundered pound bomb before it could take off. After salvo was able to take off. Trying to assist Vet in get compensation, need information to verify incident.

Comments: Dad was Exec (I believe) and then Squadron Cmdr. after then-Major Witt was shot down. I'm doing a family project and would very much like to have any recollections--anecdotes, personal stories, specific information on combat missions (with approx. date & location, if known), etc.--also photos of Japan & Korea at that time. Basically, I'd like anything that would flesh out the story of a guy who never said much. I got some very helpful information along these lines from Col. Dick Mischke, and it occurred to me that this website might be a good way to contact others. If you hate to write, give me a phone number and I'll call you. Thanks for anything you can tell me!
