LOOKING FOR NEICE |
| ROBERT WACHTL wrote on January 3, 2004 CITY AND STATE: NORTHFIELD CENTER OH UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: ARMY VETERAN - KOREA Comments: Looking for anyone who might remember an Air Force family stationed in Ashiya, Japan in the late 1950's who adopted a Japanese/American girl named Judy Maruyama. The Airman who adopted Judy was assigned to the 15th Radio Squadron, HQ Detachment. Judy is the neice of my wife, whose sister Toshiko gave up for adoption to her friends at AAFB after Judy's American father (who was a pilot)was killed in a training accident. They left Japan around 1958/59 and were reassigned to an airbase in Illinois. For several years after that, the families corresponded back and forth and Judy's new family sent many pictures of Judy back to her natural mother, until her untimely death at the age of 33 due to encephalitus. My wife would very much like to find Judy as she too, is now in the USA. If anyone remembers, or has any information, our email is: rwwachtl@adelphia.net. Thank you . .. Keywords: |
