He was a navigator on a B-26 Invadera and was shot down Aug 7th, 1952 near Hwangju. His mother and father were my uncle Emile and aunt Ella Roessel and lived next door to us in Huntington Park, California. I remember when we got the word that his airplane was shot down and he was missing in action. I was 5 years old at the time. I still have a photo of him taken during WWII when he was going through flight training. In the photo he is stepping up into the cockpit of a Stearman biplane.
