Comments: I am interested in communicating with any one who happened to witness a P-51, while landing
along with 2 or 3 other P-51's, run off the runway, and hit an L-17 Navion and 2 L-5 artillery spotter aircraft. This incident happened rather early in the morning in late September or early October 1950 at the air strip in Suwon. The L-17 had just landed and discharged it's 4 passengers. I was in the process of pre-flighting the 1st L-5. The 2nd L-5 was parked wing tip to wing tip with my aircraft. The L-17 and the 2nd L-5 were both thrown out on the runway while my L-5 was dragged between the 51's gear for about 25 or 30 yards before it stopped. My plane was totally destroyed and the other 2 were severely damaged. The 51 was kind of banged up also. The pilot of the 2nd L-5 and I dragged the unconscious P-51 pilot out and away from the plane because we thought that the 51 was going to blow up...it didn't...it just cooked and gurgled for a while and then cooled off. I am curious to know what happened to the people involved and that is why I'm writing this letter.

Comments: I served with the 10th Liaison from May 1953 to May 1954 located a K-16(Seoul and K-55(Suwon). I was assigned NCOIC of the Airborne Radio Maintenance Section. The aircrafts that we flew at that time were the L-20 Beaver and L-5 Recon. which were practically being phased out. After the truce as signed, the 5th Airforce(forward) and the 5th Air Force(rear) relocated and combined at K-55(Suwon) in which our sqdn. relocated to this new site. We continued to support the 5th Airforce Headquarters after the move. Our CO was Major Stewert and the first soldier was Buck Buchanan.
