Comments: I am searching for my Katusa friend, CHANG KYU SIK. We were stationed together in Camp Rice in 1964-1965. After I was discharged, we were in contact for a few years but we both moved at the same time and were not able to communicate. He is about 64 now and is from Pusan Amidong. Now that we are much older, I would like to contact him to make sure that he is ok, and of course, it would be my desire to visit him. Thanks for your help!

Looking for the then Lt. Col. Kim - ROK 26th Regt. Capital (Tiger) Div. - on Steel Ridge July 1953 |
 |
 |
John R. Carpenter wrote on 2002-08-15 10:11:07.0
Comments: During the last Chinese offensive in July 1953, The ROK Army took the burnt of the offensive. The ROK Capital Division began to fall back but was hit by enemy forces at this time causing units to fall back farther than intended. One of the 21 strong points survived because of Lt. Col Kim. He rallied those ROK soldiers who were willing to fight into the bunker complex. Inside this bunker complex was an American 3 man FAC (forward air controller) and an American 28 man unit testing battlefield radar with AA weapons. The combination of guts, leadership with a little bit of help by air and artillery support guided by radar at night and in the fog, saved this unit from being wiped out.

Lee Moore wrote on 2001-02-16 18:30:13.0
Comments: I need help locating any records or information on how to obtain records on my grandfather a KIA during the Korean War. He migrated with my mother, ( 2yrs old at the time), to Seoul Korea from the north side. My mothers- mother died when she gave birth to my mother. My mother says she does not remember her father because she was so young when he died in the Korean War. The only recolection she has of him is from her step mom, who had passed on in 1965. Her step mom only told her of the bravery of her father and that he died to keep her free. I was wondering if anyone can help me or guide me to a search tool to locate records of my grandfather. His name is Poa Sung Goo Ne. Thank you Seemoore

Comments: Hi! My name is Scarlett Choi and I'm a granddaughter of a patriotic General who fought in the Korean War. He proudly lived from the tedious war and died with honour five years ago from today.
I also am a proud Korean who is very patriotic towards my country.
I was searching for the Korean War for my History project that I had for school and I found this site and this really helped me remember the importance of my support to my nation and the greatness every single veteran have supported.
I just wanted to say thank you... ^^
With thanks, Scarlett Choi
