Looking for Joseph Morrissey who served from Ja. 1951 to June 1951
with 53rd Quartermaster Corps and was transferred to Korea. Group
unknown at that time. Resident address upon entry into service was
South Boston, MA .
Mail stopped coming from Korea. Was he a casualty in Korea??? If not
is it possible to locate present residence??
Person looking for him is one who served with him at that time. His

Would like to find Inactive Reservist called up went to Camp Dix, NJ, to
Ft.Hood for Infantry Refresher, Steam Engine train to Camp Stoman, Ca,
thence to Korea around Jan 1 1951. Landed in Yokahama, train to Sasabo,
staging area, held there for approx 10 days then a group of MOS 405
shipped to Pusan joining Hq., 55th QM Depot, Pusan.
Secretary of ManPower, Anna Rosenberg, insisted that Inactive Reservist
should not have been called up and ordered us returned. We returned in
Sept. or Octr., on the Gen Polk, a Troop Ship, rather than a Vioctory
Ship that took us over.

8055th Quartermaster

I spoke with James M. Kennedy today and recieved more information that
might help. His last assignment was with the 8055th Quartermaster
driving a M52 Rescue vehicle with Dewaye Milton. James was a Spec. 2.
This was at Pusan, Korea near the end of the war. Dewayne went to South
Korea and James to North Korea.
James' serial # is RA14490751. I hope this will help you even more.

companies but he doesn't remember which company headquarters it was
with, not like it was yesterday!!
I've been in the Navy and now Air Force for 18 years. I hope you are
able to keep up the work on the Korean War efforts. I told my
father about it and boy did he come up with some stories I'd never
heard before. We'd like to get a copy of his service record too! If
you could help me please let me know!!
