Comments: My father, 1st. Lt. Bert W. Justus was a POW MIA in Korea. I have a report signed by a William D. Beale stating that my father was suffering from blood poisoning in leg and is assumed to have died. I was 6 years old. I am sorry to hear about the death of your father only 10 years after my dad. The report your father filed after the war ended is one of the few that give us some idea of what happened to my father. I can't thank him but I can tell you how much it meant to us.

He has more contact information than I do, and can be reached at the above number. He knows what his Christian name was, what unit he was with, and other things that I do not know.

STILL SEEKING INFO ON MY FATHER

Comments: I'm still seeking any information on my father (James L. Sayre) (Jim Sayre) in the Korean War. He told me very few stories about it. He mentioned that he wasn't old enough to get into the military so he had to lie about his age. Would this make tracking his record difficult? As far as I know he still gave them the correct name.

Thanks a lot for any info.

Comments: I got that name When I was unable to fly because of a surplus of Gunners.

In 8th Bomb Sqdn.

They gave me a crew of Koreans and a large truck and we hauled Fuel for the K8 in the winter of 51. Good thing as my pilot Lt Qwinn and navigator were shot down and captured soon after arriving there.

I transfered to 13th and got my 50 missions there. Shot down on 38th mission but not capatured. Wondering what happened to Lt Quinn?

Comments: I am looking for any information on Major Kassel M. Keene. Major Keene's B-29 was shot down on November 19, 1952. The crew is believed to have safely bailed out on and near Cho'Do Island. Several accounts concerning Major Keene have surfaced over the years. The hardcover book "Soldies of Misfortune" indicates that Major Keene was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in July of 1953 for assaulting a fellow prisoner, and was not to be affected by repatriation. I would appreciate any information from anyone that may have any information concerning the whereabouts of Major Kassel M. Keene. For more information, please visit the website http://home.att.net/~myron.sestak Thank you.
