Comments: My father, John Amos Dolph, passed away on Nov. 3rd in Mission Viejo, CA. He was in VP-6 between 1950-52. A service with military honors was held at Riverside National Cemetery on Nov. 6th.

Patrol Squardon Six (VP-6) (Nov. 1949 t0 Jan. 1952); Korean War Zone (VP-6) (July 1950 to Feb. 1951); Plus Korean War Zone (VP-6) (Sept. 1951 to Feb. 1952); Awarded two (2) Korean War/United Nation Metals, plus the VP-6 Navy Unit Commendation Citation Ribbons.

I have many documentations and pictures of the VP-6 Planes (some in flight & in action), as well as the officers, flight crew members & ground crews, etc. At this time, I am attempting to write a book about VP-6 and it's part in the Korean War. I may title it "Blue Sharks Off Red Coast"; as referenced to Colliers Magazine in it's Oct. 28th., 1950 issue!

VP-6 Korean War Fatalities

Comments: The following is the list of crew members that were in a VP-6 P2V-3W That was shot down by the Soviets during the Korean Conflict. It is the same action that Jack Lively on your list was involved in. No bodies or survivors were located though the action was possibly in Russian waters. Details are still classified by DOD after over 50 years. Some suspicions that the Soviets captured and imprisoned some of the crew. All are listed as MIA. Reunions

Comments: I was with VP6 from 12/50 to early 1953. I and (seven others) were sent a Air Force Base in northern Japan (Tachacowa?) and were told not to upack as we were leaving the next day for Atsugi.I was assigned to Aviation Equiptment with Jerry LaClair and Dennis (forgot last name) Jerry was from Yakima Wa and Dennis was from Logan or Ogen Ut.I did two tours at Atsugi and Kodiak, Guam and Sangley Point. Tried to get in to Riger School but was unable --Transferred into Personel and in 53 transferred to Moffett Field. I have lots of good memories of Atsugi Kodiak and the Philippines and sad thoughts of the MIA's and seeing #3 burn up on the runway in Hong Kong. Love to hear from anyone

Comments: I have recently discovered a picture of Us. Navy Squadron 147, with a Srg. Ashmore as 1st pilot of the Bombing Squadron, taken in SanJuan, Puerto, Rico. The Naval Bombing Squad flew the east coast during World War II fron New York to Puerto Rico and futher South. The picture is dated 10-11-1944.If anyone knows my father Truman A.Jamar,Aviation Ordanceman and gunner, 2nd Class, who came from Texas, please contact me. He was in several downed aircraft crashes, one which left him on a deserted island island about six weeks.

Looking for pictures of my father

Comments: My father served during the Korean War with Patrol Squadron Six between 1951 - 1952, I believe he was on US NAVREOSTA stationed at Pearl Harbor on Feb. 10, 1952.
