Comments: I would like to hear from any one who remembers me. I flew in BA 7 for about a year as an ATAN and was at the ECM station. I recently made contact with Bob Lucas and Jack Serena...he was our radioman. I would also like to hear from others and especially from John Grove from Ontario, Oregon and O'Leary from the Boston area.

Comments: My uncle Shelby Vaughn Neville, nickname "Nellie", died on the Crash of BA1 of VP47 Dec.31, 1951. I am looking for any information about the circumstances, causes, and personal information about him and his crew. After the crash crewmen D.E. Tripp and Orville O. Seal wrote to my family expressing their condolences. I have those letters and desire to know more.

Comments: Looking for information about the crash of BA1 of VP47 Dec. 31, 1951 at Hong Kong Harbor. Have information, records and pictures to share. Looking for information about Jolly Britton and Al Baxter [crewmembers KIA] who wouldn't let my father, Doris Edward Tripp [Trippy or Ed to his friends] on the fatal flight, saving his life [and mine!]. Would especially like to contact their families and discover the location of their graves.

Comments: TODAY MARKS THE 48 TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH OF ALL MEMBERS ABOARD VP-47 PBM BA-1 FLYING FROM IWAKUNI,JAPAN TO HONG KONG FOR AN R&R TRIP. I WAS RADAR OPERATOR AND STAYED BACK WITH PLANE CAPTAIN DUETCH AND CREWMEMBER CIMENO.OUR FRINDS AND CREW MEMBERS JIM AND DON LANDON, DOUG CAMBELL,JERRY EDWARDS, LARRY STONE,WALT RABB AND PILKOTS MC CARTHY AND WERTZ WERE ALKLL KILLED ALONG WITH PASSENGERS WHEN THEY HIT A NMOUNTAIN SOUTH OF JAPAN CALLED YAKU SHIMA ON JUNE 9, 1954-GOD BLESS THEM ALL.

CDR Randall T Boyd Jr buried in Arlington Natl

Comments: CDR Randall T. Boyd Jr., Executive Officer of VP-47 (1950-51)passed away and was buried in Arlington National Cemetery on November 29th, 2001. CDR Boyd was awarded a Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Crosses (3 citations),Air Medals (5 citations) and many campaign medals. Comments: I was a member of VP-47 1955-57. Served as the radar operator in crew #7. I have pictures of several overseas tours and would be willing to share them with anyone interested. Cdr Randall T Boyd ill in Houston

Comments: My dad is Cdr Randall T. Boyd Jr (ret). He was in VP-47 in 1950 during the Korean War. He was awarded the DFC (2 Gold stars) and the Air Medal (4 Gold Stars) while he was a member of VP-47. I am one of his 5 sons. Our dad is very ill with cancer. If any of you remember him from Korea or Trinidad (VP-34)or Rota or Pensacola or ONI DC or USS Dallas, etc - please send him a card at his Houston home.
