Comments: I recently obtained the us Naval academy yearbook for 1940 embossed with the name "John Micheel"..I understand he was KIA in Korea with VA923, I"d be most greatful for any details about the man and the action in which he was killed.

Comments: I am trying to gather information about the air combat operations of USN squadrons in Korea. In case of VA-923 I am especially interested in any information about the MiG encounter of 27 November 1951, in which an AD-3 flown by a Lt/ McMasters was hit and damaged, although not downed, by a MiG-15. If someone even knows this pilot’s full name that would help. Any further info on this encounter, or that of CVG-102 F9F’s 18 November 1952 as well or any other, first hand or not, it would also be helpful.
