Comments: Seeking contact info (mailing or e-mail address) for former USN Cmdr. Tex Atkinson, who authored "From the Cockpit - Coming of Age in the Korean War" in which he relates his and his squadron mates experiences while attached to VA-195 aboard CV-37 and CV-21 during their Korean War cruises. He indicates his residence as Pensacola, FL.

Comments: I am trying to gather information about the air combat operations of USN squadrons in Korea. In case of VA-195 I am especially interested in any information on the several encounters between CVG-19/Princeton a/c and MiG’s 7 October 1952, as well as an encounter 20 August 1952. Any further info on any of these encounters, or others, first hand or not, would be helpful.

Comments: You might remember yhe Kitchen sink? I was the one had it built and installed on 1000lb water fill bomb. It was finnaly dropped on Pyonyang. I have pictures of Pilots on first Cruise and the Chief Petty Officers and some others. Gave the Princeton Association a Vidio of more than one hour of ops during this period. Worth looking at. I think they sell it for $15.00. Worth it and will take you back in time to this period Royal

Comments: What is the purpose of this site? Are you intending a history of VA-195? What? I am a former member of the squadron and would like to see some kind of a history.

PS: I just forwarded the original message and was routed to your home page. I got into the site in the first place with the inquiry "VA-195." What came up was the entry from another former squadron member. Disregard the questions asked. I can see your intent. New question: Do you know of any definitive history of VA-195?
