Jim Perkins - Boatswains Mate

Comments: I was wondering if anyone remembers my father - Jim Perkins - who served on the USS Weiss? He died in the late 1980's but I remember several stories about his 21 year Navy career but the Weiss is the only ship name I remeber.

Saunders

Comments: It is with sad regret that I am posting the passing of Duane "Gene" Saunders, age 76, on 3/25/2008. I had the privilage of serving with Gene on board the "Clymer" for a brief time, but really got to know him on the Black River Falls Fire Dept and Rescue squad. I made many "runs" with "Pa" as he was affectionately called here. We had a lot of stories to tell and some we kept between ourselves. Of course, Gene had many more than I, since he retired with 20 years in the Navy. He will be greatly missed by family, many friends,and shipmates. Godspeed Gene

Bruno Pedulla, USS Weiss APD-135

Comments: We are saddened to report that,Bruno Pedulla passed on March 30th/07. His reunion attendance was one of the highlights of his later life. He leaves his wife, Isabel, and four children, Joeseph, Anthony, Thomas, and Rebecca; and five grandchildren, and one great grandson.

Bruno was buried, April 2nd, with Military Honors at the Gate of Heaven Cemetary.
