| HEATHER MOYER wrote on February 14, 2007 City and State: Unit: Service or Relationship: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: My name is Heather, and my grandfather, Ken Roenicke was aboard the Wallace L Lind during the Korean War. He passed quite a few years ago, and I was too young to know how much his memories would have meant to me even now. (I think my parents thought I was too young to hear such language.) I am married to a former Navy man now, and I think they would have gotten along great. I miss him dearly. If anyone knew him, has a story or even a photo to share, I would appreciate it so much. Thank you. Keywords: wallace l lind, korean war |

| CARLOS (CAL) CALDERON wrote on January 8, 2005 City and State: DELTONA FL Unit: USS WALLACE L. LIND DD703 Service or Relationship: - Comments: Everyone talks about the History of the Jolly Wolly no one ever mentions the many times the ship during the 50's was in harms way and answered the call. I wondering anyone out there remembers during the suez crisis how we had went to geral quarters because the French and the British Navies refused ius entry to Aid in the evacuation of American citizens who were caught up in the Bombardment. Many times we were called to serve our Country in Harms way, yet because we were not technically at war we aren't aloud to join the American Legion. Who Remembers?
