Comments: I would like to know if anyone remembers my father Charles (Charlie) Houck. He served on the Valley Fordge in the early 50's, he said he got a "Well done". from the CO for navigating through a Hurricane. He never did talk to me about his service much, but I really want to know what he was like when he was there. He lived in Philadelphia and married Rose Marie in 1953 or '54. I don't know what he did on board because he never talked to me long enough about it. Please help me know this part of my Dad that I never knew.

Comments: I was hoping that I could get in touch with someone who knew my grandfather, Alfred D'Andrea. He served during the conflict and has "misplaced" his cruise books. I would love to get in touch with someone, anyone, who can direct me where to find any of these books. He served during 1950-1952, I think and he was an ET. Please help me find any info. I would love to re-connect him with anything anyone has to offer. Thank you, Angel Worthing

He never spoke much of his Navy time, but if anybody out there served with him and can relate any information to me I would be very appreciative. I have no information about what he did while serving on board the ship so I have no other information other than he was on board for 3 years or so. Any information would be appreciated, Thank you.

Comments: Would like to hear from anyone who may have known my dad Joe Atkins Jr., from Spartanburg, SC. He was on the Valley Forge from its first commission. He was a plank owner, I believe his rank was Chief Petty Officer. I have a few pictures and newspaper articles from the Valley Forge. I don't have names with the pictures, but if someone recognizes the name of my dad, maybe they can help identify his "buddies". Would like to hear from anyone who might have known him, or heard a father or grandfather mention him from that time.

Comments: My dad is Otto Delahoussaye Jr. and served on the Valley Forge from its commissioning until early 1948. He has pictures of the ship going through the Panama Canal. He told me a story that I have always remembered. He says that two marines on guard duty outside the captain's quarters got into a "quick draw" contest one day and that one of the marines was killed when the other one accidently pulled the trigger. If anyone knew my dad (he's from Texas) from that time I would love to put him in touch with you. Also, when is the next reunion?

John H. Nyhuis who was listed as MIA while flying an FPF
Panther from the carrier Valley Forge CV-45 on 12 Aug 1950 near
the No Korean village of Cum Chon (sp?).
I've spoken with his wing mate so I have a pretty good idea of what
happend that day, but there has been no further information since 1954.

I am attempting to write a book about the aircraft Carrier U.S.S
Valley Forge CV-45 during the first 6 months of the Korean War.
Contact with members of the crew for information will sure help.
I can not afford to go to press with this item. I really would like to
make the info I have accumulated over the past few years available to
any interested persons. I am making the final re-write and have
decided to print and publish with a paper cover. I want to market it
for cost. In other words I will have a local printer reproduce my
pages and and I will assemble and staple it together. It will be
available for cost of printing plus the postage.
