Comments: My father has an unusual middle name, it's Frisco. We're searching for any photos of him in his dress blues. He served aboard the USS Valley Forge around 1958-1960, Probably more like 1959-1960. Thanks, if you can help, it would mean a great deal.

Comments: My Father, Robert L. Chiapetto, was aboard the Valley Forge sometime during the years 1951 - 1953 (he was also on the Philipine Sea at sometime during those years). He was an Electronics Technician, 3rd Class. He said he worked on the radar but I really don't know much about his time aboard ship. He was proud of his time in the Navy and loved carriers (Valley Forge was his favorite!). If you have any information to share with me, I'd love to hear from you. I have two young sons who would love to hear more about their grandfathers time in the Navy.

He was the Morse Code Operator for this ship. I am not sure exactly of his years of service but I believe it would have had to have been towards the end of the war.

He served on the Valley Fordge in the early 50's, he said he got a "Well done". from the CO for navigating through a Hurricane. He never did talk to me about his service much, but I really want to know what he was like when he was there. He lived in Philadelphia and married Rose Marie in 1953 or '54. I don't know what he did on board because he never talked to me long enough about it. Please help me know this part of my Dad that I never knew.

I've spoken with his wing mate so I have a pretty good idea of what

I am attempting to write a book about the aircraft Carrier U.S.S
Valley Forge CV-45 during the first 6 months of the Korean War.
Contact with members of the crew for information will sure help.
I can not afford to go to press with this item. I really would like to
make the info I have accumulated over the past few years available to
any interested persons. I am making the final re-write and have
decided to print and publish with a paper cover. I want to market it
for cost. In other words I will have a local printer reproduce my
pages and and I will assemble and staple it together. It will be
available for cost of printing plus the postage.
