I hung with Richard O'shields, Ross Aliotti, Ed Ryan, Al Partida, Ron Leighton, Bart Hamilton, John Lee, Ed Nurenberg, Steve Solorio and a few others I can't recall at the moment.

Keywords: The nickname was Speedy as in Gonzalez. I transfered in E company from Boiler Tech company. Served with Smith, Teasedale, Monaghn, Fletcher to name a few. We were in Vietnam for 8 1/2 months till the cease fire in May 1973. Roomed in Long Beach with Scott Richards from Michigan, Larry Smart from Boca Raton. Hung out with Dale Atterbary, Jay Romine, David Messenger, Doug Hall, Kris Catour,to name a few at the Armed Services YMCA in Long Beach with the GSO girls.

Comments: I was an SK3-serving from 1955 to 1958,inventoried parts & tooks ullages (fuel delivered to ships) on the "T". Transferred to Formosa MAAG KaoShiung. Serving on 6 ships as billets till 59. Had ton & half truck & 3 seaman. Delivered & picked up fleet freight for the Navy from up in the country to down in KaoShiung, & PingTung-marine tent city. We expected invasion from the communists as imminent. My frother "Bobby" served with me on the "T". Then I transffered to ComServRon#3 Sasebo Shore duty,screening movies till discharge. Joined the Army-Sgt-sig Corps. Went through basic & E-1 all over againd served in Europe till 64. Attended the reunion in Biloxi,7 had a wonerful time but missed the one in OK City last year for several medical corrections. All is well..Cecil Hensley

I called reservations today and check - there are more than 50 ex-crewmen signed up for the event. Many of us are bringing our spouses. Please try to look up more information regarding the reunion if you're interested. I hope to see as many of the crew from my brief era, 1968 - 1970. Comments: The engineers in M, A, and B divisions were a great bunch of guys. Most were good friends. We had good leader ship. I remember a Chief Butterfield and Chief Zurrell. We had a very fa- mous skipper,Capt John D Bulkeley, this fellow was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor by President Roosevelt for rescuing Gen MacArthur off Corregidor with his PT boat. He was skipper of the T for a short time in 1958. He signed my MM1/C promotion certificate. Great memories!! I did a lot of growing up on this ship. Many can say the same thing,I'm sure. This experience should be required, the world would be a much better place because of it. called the "Idle Hour". As I recall, a bunch from M div hung out there when the ship was in port.-A fun place. I did a lot of growing up on this ship. I became a responsible human being. The USN did this not only for me but most of us. This experience should be required, the world would be a better place..
