Anyone remember the Telfair on a trip to the Saudi Arabia area in 1957?

Keywords: Anyone on the Telfair in 1957 remember a trip to the Saudi Arabia area with the 3rd Marine division aboard the USS Telfair? I have a friend I am writing a tribute about. His name is Sgt. John wolter, USMC and was in Hotel co, 3-3, 3rd Marine Division aboard the Telfair in 1957. Can anyone tell me about debarkation from Okinawa or the trip to the Persian Gulf area in 1957, early in the year I believe. It was a 6 month float.
