Comments: I realize the word Thanks is way too late, but since i've found your ships history,I have to tell you fellows how much i along with my ship the USS CRATER AK-70 appreciated you being our escort long time ago about Sept 4th 1943 enroute from Saipan to Eniwetok. We had on board 57 Japanese P.O.W's. Thanks for the safe journey.

Comments: I am a friend of William Pinkey's daughter. She remembers being aboard his ship, the USS Swallow when it was stationed at Pearl Harbor, but she was too young to remembre much about his career in the Navy. All she knows is that he was killed somewhere in the Carribean, and she thinks he was a diver/EOD or frogman. If anybody knows him or anything about him, please contact me.
