Many great memories, great guys. Remember replacing the gun mount in Malta (all 5 levels). Remember the Coke bycicle give-away in Naples. Tire tracks all over the 01 deck. Who was that guy flying a kite over the harbor on a copper wire interfering with the radars? Remember pulling storm chains and hauling ass to get to Malta. Only a couple days and then - crabs everywhere in the Deck Div forward berthing. Remember the Newport News shipyard - more trading you never saw. Remember the Git-Mo cruise to deliver icecream and lobster. Who "salted" the boilers? Ole baldie blew his top. Sorry he had to go. We ate tube steak and hamberger for months to buy bunker oil for the trip. However, we were in "fine" spirits after St Thomas. All the way back. Everyone had a few tucked away for the long trip.
