He was transfered to the Crescent City and then the Hope and we believe to a hospital in the Philipines and later yet to California.

GREG HOLBROOKS wrote on November 17, 2000 City and State: Unit: Service or Relationship: - Comments: My father served on the USS Shea DM-30 in WW II. The ship took hit by a suicide Japanese baka bomb on May 4, 1945. The vessel was runing a picket line on the Japan side of Okinawa. This took the vessel out of service for WWII [war ended in August]. 42 of the WWII crew attended the last reunion that is now held concurrently with the Koren crew reunion. The last reunion was in September of 2000. Keywords: USS Shea DM-30
