Comments: I am Bill Brady's son-in-law and am inquiring on behalf of his wife, Lois, as to anyone who may have remembered him. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1983, but is survived by his wife, Lois, daughters Karen and Beth, and son Rick. He spoke little of his military experience so any information would be appreciated by his family. Thank you for your consideration.

I'm looking for any info/stories from anyone that knew & served with him. I also have some ship & crew pictures I'd be happy to scan and share with anyone. Maybe you can help tell the story of some of these pics. Thanks for this great website.

Doyle at a ceremony onboard the USS Rochester on Sept., 22, 1950. He received a silver star that day for service as coxwain on LCVP during the Inchon Invasion. my dad passed away in 1985, and he never really talked about his experiences in Korea and the Navy. I would like to know more about that part of my dad's life. Lethia Morgan, Cass Lake, MN

Comments: My brother Melvin Leon Grubbs was aboard the Rochester prior to and during the Korean War. He was aboard during the Quemoy (?) insurrection. He of course was my hero and I've been lucky enough to learn so much from him. Unfortunantly, Melvin's life was taken July 18, 1953. He was a true sailor dedicated to his ship and may have been a little foolish now and then to get the opportunity to serve in the front compartment. I am anxious to hear from any of his shipmates. I do have quite an array of USS Rochester Memories, and would feel blessed to hear from anyone who served with Melvin. I am a career Army retiree, having served 30 years, and would have been a Navy veteran, if the Navy recuriter had not been out to lunch, during my visit to the Muncie, Indiana Post Office. God Bless you all, and thank you for your service to this great country of ours.

In Korea I served on USS Rochester CA 148 from the begining to 1952.
I have three battle stars; Pusan,Inchon and Hungnam.
We were at Hungnam providing covering fire as they made their way
to the the evacuation point so this whole story has made quite an
impression on me.
