LOOKING FOR DAD'S SHIPMATES |
| DARYL THOMAS wrote on January 26, 2007 CITY AND STATE: FAIRLAND IN UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: Looking for shipmates of Dewey Thomas. Dad served aboard the Renville during the Korean War from '53- unsure when he left her. I believe she was his first assignment.I think he was assigned as a coxswain's mate, however I am unsure of what division he served in and am curious of what his duties were. He had told me at one time he had something to do with one of the 40mm AA mounts when under way, but during landing operations was coxswain in a LCVP. Any one that knew him is welcome to contact me. My son is asking questions I have no real answers to. Dad passed away in 1991 after an accident in the home. Keywords: USS Renville APA227 |
