It was the 1950's, during the Korean war and he was a plumber's apprentice that worked on evaporators for other ships. His name is Sonny Brackett. He is not computer savvy so I am assisting him in his search for any information with regards to the crew he served with. He lost his crew book and all his other records to a house fire years back and lost touch with everyone. I was later stationed at Quonset Point RI aboard the USS Lake Champlain CVS 39. Does any one know if the USS Remey is in moth balls or was she scrapped like the Champ was. If anyone could tell me where to aquire a large photo it would be appreciated. I would also like to go and visit her if at all possible. I salute all of you who served aboard her.
