Schneider, Passed away on June 28, 2007 after a long battle with Alheimers desease and complication from Diabetes. Bob served on the Ptarmigan it's entire time during WW II. He was very proud of his ship and his service to thIs great country of ours. His funeral was July 2 complete with a full Military service by Thomas E. He was asigned to the ship on its maiden voyage and served on her through the end of the war. He always told how he helped put her in service and helped put her out of service after the war. His name is Motor Machinist 1st Class, Robert Schneider, N8515 Hwy 55, Menasha, WI 54952.
