Comments: Our squadron (VF 154) was aboard the USS Princeton in 1953 and I was an Aviation Electrician. I found out a few weeks ago that a book was published in late 1953 or early 1954 named Attack Carrier USS Princeton Air Group Fifteen. I never seen a copy of this book before I was discharged in Feb. 1954 and had forgotten about the picture being taken. If there is someone out there that has a copy of this book and would sell it, I am very much interested in buying it.

from a re-union CV-37, LPH-5 in Las Vegas.
The convention went for 3 days. He met a lot of his old crew mates
including plank owners. And some who were on till it was re-designated
to LPH-5. A good time was had by all!

I am a Korean War vet. I was a naval aviator, 1950-53, CAG 19

always saddened when I realize that "our war" has been relegated to
a dusty sidelight of history. Nothing ever mentioned.

The two things my Air Group 19 were known for were the strike on May 7
for dropping 8 torpedos, with 5 hits destroying the Hwachon reservoir. I
guess that was a first time any planes ever launched torpedos to bust a
dam, and probably the last.
Our first and most impotant job was flying close air support for the
Chosin Few who got out of the long march to Hungnam Harbor. Those
brave Marines took a hellava beating on the long march to the sea,
to the saftey of transports awaiting them.
Soon after we got them out, I have a picture of the Hungnam waterfront
being blown up with a destroyer #127 close by.
The people I've met thru the Chosin Few organization remember my planes
and the color light blue on the tail, still today I get invites to the
Marines Ball !
Anyway my air group flew 5960 total sorties, we lost 51 planes and 15
brave pilots. We had some famous firsts First Carrier Jet Squadron to
use bombs in combat FirstAD Squadron to drop Torpedos First Group on a
Moth-balled carrier First Jet Photo Unit First Team from Organized
VA(N) Squadron First Group to attempt Tunnel-busting First Group to
Start Organized Bridge-busting Holder of All Replentishment and

I was starting through a hatch when I meet none other than the
