I was only member of crew from New York and my buddy Bill Herr a yeoman was only member from New Jersey. We blockcaded Inchon for awhile and sailed in the Japanese seas most of the time. It was a good ship, an excellent destroyer and earned the big E on its stack. Keywords:

When they came back into Hawaii he and some buddies went swimming at sandy beach near the blow hole and was swept in the current and never found. I was wondering if anyone one remembered him ? Still in touch with three crew members located from Utah to Florida. Enjoyed my time on the Philips, having great experiences and making life long friends. Started out as a first loader on I beleive is was mount 31, a 3" 50, but struck for signalman and made it. Also made helmsman for special sea details, and general quarters.
