Was with last personnel to leave upon decommission at Tonge Pt Oregan. Skipper at that time was CAPT P.W. Jackson, later promoted to RADM. Outstanding crew and ship. Retired in 1979 as YNC. Was stationed again with Yeoman I relieved, E.Q. Castle, YNCM again in 1976 in New Orleans. Keywords:

Served aboard from 9/51 to 7/54. She stayed in far-east service for little time after. When we sailed out of North Island,Ca., in the wee hours of 1/5/53, we thought we would be back in 12 months - later found out we were non-rotational (ship stays but we would be relieved after certain months of duty.) Good duty,saw many beautiful sights,visited many interesting countries,great duty in Hong Kong.Many, many fond memories. Went on temporary duty with VP-46,PBM squadron based at Sangley Point,Phillipines due to their shortage of radio operators. Good duty. Keywords:
