Comments: I am an investigator with the law firm Cooney & Conway in Chicago, IL. We represent Mr. Don Scott (U.S.S. Navasota, 1950-1953) in claims against asbestos manufacturers.
Unfortunately, Mr. Scott has been diagnosed with mesothelioma, a particularly devastating form of cancer whose only known cause is inhalation of asbestos fibers. We believe Mr. Scott was exposed to asbestos while on board the Navasota.
If anyone served on board this ship between 1950-1953, please contact me.

Josh Paul wrote on 2003-11-12 13:07:10.0
Comments: I am looking for anyone who remembers a crewmember named Martin Fletcher who served aboard the USS Navasota AO 106, from January 52 to Dec. 55. Mr. Fletcher worked as a machinist, keeping steam-driven pumps operating, removing asbestos from pipes for repairs, and changing gaskets. Unfortunately, Mr. Fletcher passed away from asbestos exposure, and my law firm is representing him in a wrongful death action in the hopes of getting money for his family. Thank you very much.

secret North Korea mission revealed |

allan strawn wrote on 2001-11-02 20:19:46.0
Comments: It had been a routine Pacific crossing toward our destination of Subic Bay, Phillipines. Three days before our schelduled arrival at Subic, we received word that the U.S.S. Pueblo had been captured by the North Koreans and was being held as a spy ship. Which in fact it was. The Navasota was diverted, as was two carrier fleets, to North Korea as a show of strength. It was the coldest spot on earth to me. We stayed almost 6 months but the North Koreans were not intimidated. I am sure you all know the story of the U.S.S. Pueblo, but now you know that the U.S.S. Navasota played a major role in this historic event.

Crew List wanted
From: BDY405@aol.com
Mon, 13 Jan 1997
Subject: USS Navasota (AO-106)
I was aboard the Navasota from 1952 thru 1954 and had 4 Korean
tours. Is a list of crew members for that time period available.
It was our mission to refuel the Seventh Fleet ships along the "bombline"
off the coast of Korea. Also we refueled at other places in the
Pacific as we were needed.
If any read this, e-mail me at bdy405@aol.com.
