I was a youngster at Punahou School then. We lived in Naval Housing, NHA3 I believe. I still have glass slides he took on a trip to Enowetok though I cannot find the movies he took of the Equator crossing on one of the trips. Does anyone remember that time on the Merapi? He was discharged right before the first Korean conflict cruise. I believe he was an engineman. He has many good memories of his service and port calls in China, Japan. He was discharged in San Fransisco after an illness and settled near there for nearly 50 years. He lives today in Austin, Texas. Keywords:

I served on her from Feb. 1955 until June 1956 I was an Electrican's Mate striker making EM3 in 1956. I would like to hear from anyone who was on her in May 1956 during our trip to Enowetok I remenber being there during an A bomb test. The operation was call operation Red Wing. Keywords:
