Keywords: Iwas a close friend of JJ Flynn, I was on the McKean from 1948 to 1952, JJ would compair faces with different cars. I stood watches in the forward engine room with JJ and we pulled severial liberties together. we sank a Russian submarine in December of 1950 Of the coast of Sasebo Japan. Tell JJ hello for me.

Comments: have always remembered the visit of uss mc kean to new zealand in 1967 and the wonderful hospitality shown to us during your visit to auckland would be nice to hear from anyone that remembers the visit, would also like to hear the history of the ship and as to where it is now i do have some pics of the ship taken in auckland harbor if anyone would like a copy please let me know, thanks again to all the crew. p stanford

Shore bombarding, supporting ground troops. Three battle stars. Inchon, wanson and sonjgin.
Steamed with task force 77 sending in air strikes from the carriers. AD-1'S, F9F Panthers and Corsairs.
