Comments: I bailed out of an F 80 over Wonsan harbor on March 19, 1951. I was pulled out of the water by pilot Don Whitaker and crewman William Moore of a navy helicopter. I was taken to an LST that they were flying off of. I was later, probably the 20th, flown over to the cruiser Manchester.
Officer Gill was my host until I was returned to Japan some time later.
I would sure like to learn the whereabouts of Gill or anyone remembering the event. The years have sure dimmed the memory of certain details. I do remember that the Navy treated me like royalty. There is a lasting warm spot in my heart for the Navy. Some years later I bailed out off the coast of California and was rescued by a helicopter from the Carrier Kearsarge. The pilot was Dan McKinnon. I hope anyone reading this has a happy year 2000. Bill Yoakley

Comments: My name is Peggy Cooper, my father was Darrell Paul Cooper, he was in the Navy from 1952-56. I would like to know if he was around agent orange. I have spina bifda which can result from exposure to agent orange. His records are not complete enough to tell us what his job was. If you knew my father please let me know. He passed away from cancer in 1979 when I was 13. I know he was on the Roanoke & Manchester because we have pictures of the boats.

I served on the Manchester for four years and was in on the Inchon
invasion. We served most of the three years in Korea doing various
duties. Task force 77 sailing with the carriers rotating to the bomb
lines firing upon railroads etc. We were in on the evacuation when
the 1st marines had to be helped at the reservoir.
I have three books made up with pictures and various writings during
our tours in Korea. Thought that I would introduce this being I did
not see our ships name in your list of Cruisers.
My name is Jim L. Griffin with 10 years Navy and last 10 years Air
Force and Retired.
